The Client

Inkthreadable is a print on demand company offering ethical and sustainable custom printing services to businesses and creators. Based in the UK, they support eCommerce businesses by fulfilling and shipping orders directly to customers under the client’s brand. Inkthreadable historically managed SEO in-house, but this became difficult as the business scaled and brought new challenges with higher priorities. SEO was effectively paused for 6 months, affecting the success of the organic search campaign.

The result was a significant drop in organic traffic and user registrations, the latter falling by almost 50%.

Inkthreadable ran a PPC campaign to bridge the gap but found the cost didn’t justify the returns, and the organic SEO returns had been far more valuable. They decided it was time to outsource, and approached Paramount Digital for help.

What we did

Our first step was a thorough audit of their previous SEO work as well as in-depth business and sector research so we could understand Inkthreadable’s market, and their place within it.

With the results of our audit we got to work:

Technical improvements to the website to help with Core Web Vitals
A content refresh to ensure commercial pages targeted relevant search terms used by Inkthreadable’s customers
An ongoing content plan to target a broader range of informational, non-branded search terms
Onpage SEO improvements to help with visibility for search engines and AI
Strategic link building campaign working along with on page SEO

Inkthreadable was kept fully up to date on the initial work and early results through regular weekly calls and access to a dedicated project management dashboard, where they could see both scheduled and completed work.
Inkthreadable wanted to be hands-off with the SEO work, choosing to put their trust in Paramount Digital’s expertise while keeping their team free to focus on other priorities. But they still needed to know the campaign was working for them.

We provided this with regular contact with senior SEO executive Hannah (who lead the SEO work), senior content writer Jack and head of SEO Paul, who were all on hand to answer questions when needed.

Jack in particular worked to understand Inkthreadable’s tone of voice and style to ensure new content was on brand first time (something Inkthreadable told us previous suppliers had struggled with).

Having gone into the campaign not expecting results within the first six months, Inkthreadable was happy to see results starting to show within a few weeks.

The primary KPI for the campaign (user registrations) doubled compared to the same period the year before, highlighting that results don’t have to take a long time with a professional, targeted SEO campaign.

The SEO strategy we put in place reversed Inkthreadable’s downward trend in organic traffic, not only restoring previous performance, but exceeding it.

Most importantly for the client, all the work and results were achieved while allowing them to remain hands-off on the SEO and content production, meaning they could focus on their main roles and providing great customer service.
