The Brief

Our client, HGV Training Network came to Paramount to try and crack the front page of Google for their main target keyword “HGV training”. Due to the competitiveness and keyword difficulty of this keyword, this couldn’t happen overnight. We got to work in trying to achieve this through consistent application of tried and trusted methods during our campaign.

Our Approach

We performed competitor research to diagnose the website in what it needs to do to reach the first page of Google. A large area of improvement was the Domain Rating (trust score with Google) of the website. HGV Training Network was some way behind those on the front page of Google in this metric. As a result, we prioritised building high quality links to the website to ensure that HGV Training Network could catch up quickly to competitors. A higher trust score with Google, combined with the engaging, SEO optimised content our in house content team had produced for the homepage, should be the recipe for success.

To create extra avenues of traffic, the SEO and Content team researched topical blog post ideas to create content for on our website that will generate clicks that are likely to convert into customers.

The Result

As a result of consistent, high quality link building, the DR (Domain Rating) score of the website increased from 17 to 26 in the space of a month. This not only propelled HGV training to the front page of Google, seeing an increase of 643% to the keyword, but increased rankings as a whole.

We decided to concurrently work on producing a topical blog surrounding the end of Government funding for HGV training at the end of the year. This blog post surpassed even our own high hopes, generating over 4,200 clicks in 2 months to the website!

The increase in “high value” traffic to the website through these channels lead to an increase in conversions on the website. As a result, the client enjoyed the most successful month in their history.
