We have compiled a list of all of the best directories in the UK, with most allowing free business listings.
Local SEO signals, including NAP (Name, Address, Phone Number) citations, are a big part of local SEO success on Google. If you have a lot of NAP citations that are all exactly the same then this shows Google that you’re a legitimate business based in the place you say you are.
Most of these are free business directories, but there will be some paid ones included if they’re good quality. Directories are ordered by their Ahrefs DR (domain rank) for your convenience. I’d recommend submitting your business to a handful of these directories each week until you’re listed on all of them. Be consistent with your business name, address and phone number.
As well as submitting your business in general UK directories like those above, most areas in the UK have their own directories. Just type into Google “Liverpool business directory”, or similar, and you should find a bunch of them.
When you list your business on directories it’s important to ensure that your NAP citations are as consistent as possible across all of them as Google looks at these to verify that your business actually exists with correct contact information.
